Scandal viewers
certainly got answers to the question “Who got shot?” within the opening
seconds of last night’s episode.
James Novak, White
House press secretary and husband of Cyrus Beene, White House Chief of Staff
was shot and killed at the gun of Jake Ballard.
Ballard was
recently appointed to be command of secret government agency, B-613 and has the
duty of protecting the Republic by any means necessary.
When it was
brought to Ballard’s knowledge that James Novak had been working on a story
that would expose the truth behind the death of the vice president’s husband,
he took brutal and drastic measures.
Assistant U.S.
Attorney David Rosen was the only person left alive at the scene and was
ordered by Ballard to wrongly convict an innocent “suspect” for the murder of
Novak.
Ballard’s response
to Olivia Pope’s refusal to go along with the story that Novak was carjacked,
was “Bad things happen to good people all the time,” warning her to stay out of
it.
Pope now plans to
team up with Rosen to take down B-613.
